BONUS SESSION: SWINGIN’ SAMPLER
In this one-time-only series, we'll spread our wings and touch upon four complements to Lindy Hop:
• Balboa is an elegant and fun swing dance, one of the few that developed independently of Lindy Hop. We’ll cover Balboa basics as well as principles that allow us to have fun dancing on crowded floors to fast songs.
• Blues and Slow Jazz will give us confidence to move in suitable ways to slower music. We’ll cover techniques and movements pulling from both Blues and Swing traditions.
• Ambi-Dancing is all about dancing in both the lead and follow roles. This fluency gives insight into our primary role, allows more opportunity to dance, and even for role switching mid song.
• Aerials are one of the most exciting and defining characteristics of Lindy Hop. We'll cover three fun and easy aerials for you to practice as well as the basics of aerial safety and training.
ALL LEVELS WELCOME. You don't need prior swing dance experience to join this series; however newer dancers may find it more enjoyable to take the beginner series at the same time.
