Yep, we've got instructional dance videos, too!
Check out this fine selection of tapes you can watch at home late at night without anyone thinking you're a pervert!

Our first and so far only set of instructional videos! Our Basics I and Basics II tapes are just what you need to get started if you can't take our class, or help reinforce what you've learned in your classes with us. We teach all the moves in great detail and show each move from a variety of angles, including from the back. This means you get to look at our butts, which are often thought to be our most charming features! Made in May 1998, this tape is pre-hernia for Tom and pre-face lift for Debra, so buy the set it for no other reason than their historical value! Plus, Debra's hair looked real good that day.

Covers the material we teach in our beginner series, plus a little extra: basic 6-count rhythm, underarm turn, basic 8-count rhythm, Jockey, Throw-Out, Lindy Whip, Lindy Circle, Side-by-Side Charleston, Half-turn Charlestons, 8-count Lawn Mower to get into Back Charleston, Traveling Charleston and exit, plus styling for the ladies on the Swivels and ways to adapt your footwork for the basic Whip to work better to fast music.

$19.50 each tape.

The March 1998 Battle of the Big Bands and Hollywood Weekend with Erik and Sylvia
Historic footage of Tom and Debra's first Battle of the Big Bands, and the first time Erik and Sylvia taught a weekend workshop anywhere! We made a video notebook of the classes Erik and Sylvia taught on Saturday and Sunday; it also features exciting footage of Saturday night's Battle of the Big Bands between the Tom Cunningham Orchestra and the George Gee Makebelieve Ballroom Orchestra, with the most fabulous jam of the decade! Erik and Sylvia review their classes in Balboa I and II, Charleston I and II, and Hollywood I and II. This is the seminal tape for Hollywooders!

Videos are only $25; to order yours, send a check made payable to Tom to:

The 1999 Battle of the Big Bands and Hollywood Weekend with Erik and Sylvia
This is a GREAT tape to steal moves from! The D.C. Lindy Hop community just loves Erik and Sylvia. So when we brought them to DC in July 1999 for a weekend of dances and workshops--along with Forties Jitterbug star Jean Veloz and her brother Ray Phelps--they produced a video "postcard" of the classes and jams. And to help us steal some of their cool moves Erik and Sylvia did them slowly for the camera. The jam portion of this tape, featuring the historical Battle of the Big Bands II between the Tom Cunningham Orchestra and Los Angeles' Bill Elliott Swing Orchestra, is a perfect bit of video to show "civilians" (your friends who are not yet hooked on Lindy Hop) why you disappear every weekend. $19.50 each.
